The blueberry, a wild fruit with flavours wavering between slightly sweet, acidic, and bitter, subtly combined with Melissa, which has a fresh aroma and similar to lemons, gives this fruit jams an exceptional freshness and balanced flavour experience. The blueberry (Duke Species) is a fruit of exceptional caliber, a berry with a resistant texture and with an attractive deep blue colour, high quality and semi-sweet and soft flavours. This fruit has an early ripening with it's harvesting being done between the months of May and June. The fruit has a medium to large size, which ripens in a relatively short time. It maintains its freshness for a longer period than most of the blueberry varieties.
Suggestions
It's flavour and texture pairs perfectly with many cheeses (feta, fresh, cheddar, Swiss and goat), pizza (pizza base, vinaigrette with blueberry extra jam with Melissa, mozzarella cheese, grilled chicken and arugula). It can be used also in toasts with mozzarella cheese and ham, sandwiches with varied cheeses, arugula, and blueberry extra jam with Melissa and chicken barbecue. It can be also used in desserts, like scones, cheesecake, pancakes, and tartlets or as toppings for lemon or white chocolate mousse.
